BC Children's Hospital Slocan Site Redevelopment Project

Vancouver, BC

British Columbia Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the most acutely ill or injured children and youth. BCCH also provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and operates a wide number of specialized health programs provided through a number of health services provider groups. As the main pediatrics clinical training site for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), BCCH is the leading acute care teaching facility in the province, and conducts research to advance health and knowledge through the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute (BCCHR), and collaborations with other institutions.

BCCH is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) which plans, manages and evaluates specialty and province-wide health care services across BC. Our values reflect our commitment to excellence and include: Respect people - Be compassionate - Dare to innovate - Cultivate partnerships - Serve with purpose

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is Canada's third largest university and consistently ranks among the 40 best universities in the world. Primarily situated in Vancouver, UBC is a research-intensive university and has an economic impact of $4 billion to the provincial economy.

You are a physician with well-established clinical skills and a passion for equitable care for all children. You approach your work with curiosity and openness, and continually strive to innovate by growing your own knowledge, your go-to resources, and your people connections. The chance to bring your desire for "better" to a cutting-edge, patient-centred program in pediatric health care is exactly the professional challenge that you need in your life. Consider this transformational role as a "can't miss" career opportunity.

The Slocan Site Redevelopment Project is a team within BC Children's Hospital and PHSA that is responsible for the design, construction, and operationalizing of a new centre for children and youth living with health complexity. This visionary project will support children living with health complexity, who require a range of health-care services and other supports so that families and care providers can look after them in their own communities. This new program of BC Children's Hospital will coordinate some of those services and supports through a first-of-its-kind care model and facility in Canada, and one of the first internationally.
