About the OpportunityCNC is looking for a full-time Associate Dean, for our Technology Programs, based in our Prince George, B.C. campus.
As Associate Dean, you’ll play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations and academic planning within the Technology programs. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Technology, Applied Arts, and Trades, you will oversee programs, while supporting faculty, operational staff, and students, and ensuring high-quality program delivery and alignment with the College’s strategic and academic goals.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and performance management
- Supporting curriculum development, instructional quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating with coordinators to plan academic schedules, workloads, and program requirements
- Guiding program review, renewal, and development to ensure relevance and quality standards
- Monitoring enrolment trends and using data to inform decision-making and program planning
- Supporting student success through inclusive learning strategies and policy compliance
- Ensuring alignment with collective agreements and working effectively within a unionized environment
- Liaising with industry partners, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders
- Championing initiatives that reflect Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusivity and belonging, and internationalization
- Contributing to strategic plans such as the Academic Plan, Indigenous Plan, and SEM initiatives
- Representing the Dean as needed and participating on institutional and departmental committees
- Overseeing budgeting and resource planning for assigned programs
To qualify for the Associate Dean: Technology position, you will need a master's degree in a technology-related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of management experience along with at least 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Applied experience in instructional delivery and curriculum leadership within post-secondary or technical training settings
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage faculty and staff
- Familiarity with curriculum development, program review, and instructional quality assurance
- Experience with academic scheduling, enrolment planning, and student success strategies
- Understanding of apprenticeship systems and/or labour market trends related to assigned programs
- Demonstrated success working within collective agreements and unionized environments
- Understanding of WorkSafe BC requirements
