  • Summary: The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for providing delegated line management for branch operations as assigned by the General Manager. This is primarily a training position. Assistant General Managers may be transferred and promoted to General Manager when qualified and required. Participation and responsibility will include the growth and prosperity of the branch, customer and employee retention and the profitability of each assigned department. The Assistant General Manager will fulfill their responsibilities through the use of sound business management practices.
  • Requirements:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Post-secondary education in sales and marketing preferred
    • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in business preferred
    • Medium and heavy duty truck and/or equipment sales experience preferred
    • Heavy duty truck/equipment technical knowledge preferred
    • Management/supervisory experience preferred
    • Five to ten years related experience and/or training
    • Ability to read and interpret financial data including income statements and balance sheets
    • Ability to use budget forecasting and trend analysis techniques is preferred
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent leadership skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 3 preferred, Class 1 is an asset)
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 kg or 50 lbs and carry short distances;
    • Must be able to climb into and out of commercial transport vehicles and heavy equipment
    • Must be able to sit for long periods
    • Must be able to operate a keyboard and other common office equipment
    • Must be able to walk around the dealership.
