Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter

As an Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter, they will be responsible for assisting in a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire protection equipment and fire sprinkler systems. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals;
• Working with Journeypersons and other team members to evaluate plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues and to assist in determining specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
• Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
• Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
• Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
• Participating in 24/7 on-call/call out emergency service. 

The successful candidate must be a professional, highly motivated, self-starter with a keen attention to detail and the ability to safely execute high quality work on-time, every time.  They will bring with them strong communication and customer service skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively with team members, as well as independently, to deliver high quality service and support to our customers.  Given the service and solutions focus of our business, they will also be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to address changing situations and priorities.  An ability to operate various power tools and machinery including but not limited to pipe threaders, pipe cutters, groovers and core drills; demonstrated mindset towards continuous learning, as well as an ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work is a must. They must also possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.

A Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice with their 2nd or 3rd year ticket and experience in an industrial or fire protection setting would be preferred.   Combinations of education in a related field and experience will be considered.
