Meeting the challenges of a high volume of inquiries from a diverse range of clients (including those with disabilities or English as a second language) and employing skilled communication and your keen sense of tact and diplomacy, you will be responsible for providing information and assistance on affordable housing programs to applicants, tenants, non-profit societies, cooperatives, community groups, government agencies and staff. As you partner with members of the housing sector and community agencies to optimize access to a range of affordable housing options for those in need, you will be helping to realize the department's commitment to high-quality service delivery that's responsive to client needs.
You will provide stellar client care and operational support for our Applicant Services department programs, products and service delivery. Under the general direction of an Applicant Services supervisor, you will work within a team environment on activities related to The Housing Registry, rent subsidies and other rental assistance programs as well as rent calculation and confirmation.
Along with Grade 12 or the equivalent, you have completed post-secondary courses in office systems and procedures along with courses or training in customer service, ideally within a contact centre context. You have a minimum of 2 years' office experience, including at least one year providing detailed information to the public. Experience providing direct customer service to the public, preferably in a contact centre environment, would be an asset. Equipped with good conflict-resolution skills, you also bring the ability to deal patiently, tactfully and effectively with emotionally charged situations and a client base with diverse cultural, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
