This positions primary responsibility will be the migration the existing TELUS Health products into their respective Cloud environments. They will implement and operate the specific application they are responsible for within the overall TELUS Health Cloud services. This is a 24/7 on-call position and will require the candidate to be able to work in this environment.Responsibilities:
•Manage from an operational perspective the Application Specific Cloud Platform
•Working directly with software development and solutions architects to provide guidance and knowledge about how the application performs and its migrations to the cloud
•Constantly working to improve performance of the system
•Troubleshooting of alerts/issues that impact the performance/uptime of the Application in the cloud
•Automate the world should be seen as a core mantra as an SRE
•Create and keep up to date all operational documentation for the Cloud Platform
•Provide assistance as a senior technical product specific expert to the Cloud Team Qualifications:Required Knowledge:
•Advanced troubleshooting Sysadmin skills will be required for this position Required Skills & Abilities:
•Advanced hands-on skills operating in Windows Server and MSSQL
•Experienced hands-on skills in Cloud Formations
•Experienced hands-on skills in AWS products and services
•An advanced understanding of software engineering and how they interact with the deployed product
•Automate the world and work with the development teams to build out key tenants of a Dev/Ops trusted environment
•Experienced in operating applications into the AWS Cloud environment
•An understanding of networking fundamentals (subnets, Basic Routing, DNS, etc)
•Solid understanding and experience in configuration management (Puppet) and associated development languages (Java, Python, Ruby)
•Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Atlassian Stack)
•Categories of technology that you should have a good understanding and/or hands-on experience with:
•Monitoring and Logging (Datadog/Splunk)
•Federated Identity Management
•Must be creative thinkers and problem solvers, who can work under pressure to figure out a system problem and create a solid solution for bringing back control quickly
•Be able to read through reams of monitoring and performance data to develop plans to continuously improve the environments Required Professional Designation/Certification:
•Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
•MCSE - Windows Server 2012(6)/MSSQL 2014(6)
•Puppet Certified Professional an asset
•AWS Certification an asset Required Experience:
•3-5 years of progressive IT experience
