Job Summary:

IT Services is looking for the right candidate to join their team as a Network Analyst II!

The Network Analyst II designs, installs, and optimizes the network related hardware and software. The Analyst works with architecture, deployment, configuration, optimization, support and maintenance of the internal/external network infrastructure and communication links that support the university’s needs.

The Network Analyst II provides backup to the Team Lead, IT Networks, assisting with configuration of core routers and firewalls. The position is responsible for the expansion and modernization of the University’s network, ensuring its ability to deliver value to students, faculty, and staff.

This position researches, anticipates, and plans for the future needs of the organization and ensures that the University community is served by well designed, reliable, and scalable network solutions.

  • A recognized Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
    • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) is required
    • CompTIA Network + ITIL, PMP, and relevant field certifications is required
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the computer technical support field including support of networking technology with an additional two (2) years of experience maintaining networks supporting VOIP communications and configuring and supporting network switches, wireless controllers, and access points
    • Knowledge of communication cabling standards
    • Experience working closely with vendors, specifying and monitoring vendor projects, and confirming compliance with project specifications
    • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate technical and business analytics in user friendly terminology
    • Ability to develop written and graphical documentation of network infrastructures
    • Excellent organizational, writing and editorial skills, attention to detail, accuracy, clarity and quality
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with diverse business functional and technical staff, at various levels, individually and in groups, to investigate, document and help assess institutional business processes
    • Experience with change management or familiarity with standard change management processes
    • Provides positive and proactive communications and customer service to users, vendors and other key stakeholders
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
