The Attorney General is the legal advisor to the government of British Columbia and is charged with ensuring that the administration of public affairs is carried out in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Attorney General is structured to carry out this mandate under the direction of the Attorney General, and Legal Services Branch (LSB) supports the Ministry in fulfilling this mandate by serving as legal advisor to government in civil law matters.

The Legal Technology Unit has specific responsibility for Legal Services Branch and provides expert advice and manages all aspects of the Legal Services Branch's Information Management/Information Technology. Support includes daily business operations; the maintenance and support for many varied, mission critical, distributed, n-tier line-of-business application systems; security, identification, and access administration; change management processes; and technical project management services.

The purpose of this position is to deliver effective business improvement solutions to Branch program areas. Facilitates definition, analysis, solution design and implementation of medium to small improvement projects. Leads project teams in the implementation, quality assurance and monitoring of business solutions.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the Business or Public Administration field, or related program area and at least 1 yearwork experience in the Business or Public Administration field;OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years' work experience in the Business or Public Administration field.
  • Candidate must have the minimum required experience in each of the following:
    • Experience providing analysis on complex business or systems processes and workflows.
    • Proven experience eliciting and documenting requirements, plans, processes, and creating and communicating effectively in writing and verbally.

Preference may be given to candidates who have the following:
  • Training in Advanced Certificate in Business Analysis, Project Management Professional Designation or LEAN Advanced Practitioner or combination.
  • Experience working in a legal field or environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education anda minimum of 4 years' work experience in the Business or Public Administration field.
  • Experience managing projects or project components and working collaboratively with various involved parties on business process change projects.
