Wildlife and Habitat Branch (the "Branch", or WHB) leads the development of program policy, regulations and legislation related to the use and management of wildlife resources, including recreational and commercial activities throughout the Province.

As the ministry representative for the freshwater recreational angling licenses, which generate approximately $15M per year in revenue, this position ensures adherence to the regulatory framework including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), and the Wildlife Act of British Columbia and regulations pertaining to recreational fishing. The position is the provincial business expert on licensing and harmonizing current delivery mechanisms and products, providing analysis and change management support for development of new or streamlined licensing practices and product innovation initiatives.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:


• A diploma or certificate in Public Administration or a computer systems administration related field (i.e., information technology, database management, computer science) and a minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience overseeing the operations and maintenance of an online permitting/licensing system, OR
• 5 years related experience, OR
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
• Experience interpreting legislation and regulations and applying related statutes, rules, policies and procedures.
• Experience using MS Excel and MS access, application software.
• Experience working with eLicensing software.
