Administrative Officer 18Currently we have a temporary opportunity available until December 2023. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

Provide leadership and supervision to a front-line service delivery team in a dynamic, high volume program areaThe provincial government provides financial assistance to over 70,000 BC students annually. The Ministry is responsible for management and delivery of student financial assistance programs totaling more than $700million in combined provincial and federal funding. The StudentAid BC (SABC) program area has oversight for the designation of institutions for the purposes of student financial assistance; this includes public and private post-secondary institutions within British Columbia as well as institutions outside the province and outside of the country. SABC assists eligible students with the cost of their post-secondary education and training through various financial assistance programs, such as student loans, grants and scholarships.
The SABC Team Lead willsupervise and lead the delivery of BC StudentAid services for a wide range of programs, overseeing the assessment of client eligibility in relation to program policies and/or guidelines, resolving escalated cases, working with a wide variety of stakeholders, contributing to reviews of service delivery policy and standards for new initiatives and improvements to existing programs.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: - A diploma in business or public administration or related field (i.e. Commerce, financial, etc.) plus related experience listed below; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies and/or regulations.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience providing client service in a service delivery environment.
Preference may be given to applicants with: - Experience supervising and/or leading others in a service-oriented environment with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working with the policies and procedures governing a financial social program.
- Experience working collaboratively with others on business changes and improvements.
- A degree in business or public administration or related field (i.e. Commerce, financial, etc.)
