There is currently one permanent position in Kelowna, and one temporary opportunity for one year in Vancouver. The temporary opportunity may be extended and/or may become permanent.

Reporting to the Regional Director, Community Corrections Division, the Regional Business Manager oversees the delivery of financial and administrative services for multiple, diverse and distinct program areas. Specifically, the Regional Business Manager provides business acumen and financial expertise in the management of the region's resources (budgets, personnel, materials and assets).The position analyses issues, identifies underlying problems, and prepares adaptive strategies in order for the region to operate within its budget and to meet ministry, branch, and divisional strategic plans. As well, this position monitors and forecasts all regional financial transactions and budget performance.

The Regional Business Manager also provides advice and analysis for program service contract development and management, as well as oversees the administration of all regional assets, supplies and inventories and performs human resource and related financial administration for the region.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in the financial management field, Accounting or Public or Business Administration plus 1 year related experience;OR
  • Diploma in the financial management field, Accounting or Public or Business Administration plus 2 years related experience;OR
  • Certificate/program completion, or some course work in a financial field plus 3 years of related experience;OR
  • 4 years related experience;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related experience includes:
    • budgeting, financial and contract administration
    • working with personal computers and standard business software (i.e., Microsoft Office) and government computer systems such as CAS and CHIPs.

Preference may be given to applicants that have:
  • Successful completion of the BC Public Service Financial Management and Control or Financial and Contract Management course; and/or successful completion of courses in Accounting, Public and/or Business Administration.
  • At least 1 year of experience budgeting, forecasting, and contract management administration.
