Job Summary

Within the Ministry of Education and Child Care, the Resource Management Division (RMD) provides operational and capital funding and planning support for school districts and monitors the financial accountability of boards of education against ministry and government policy. The division also provides a wide range of corporate functions for the Ministry, including budgeting and financial support services, strategic human resources, workplace and facilities support, and risk management and emergency preparedness.

The Procurement and Contract Officerprovides technical support and guidance to Ministry staff on government procurements and transfers and the contract management lifecycle to ensure compliance with ministry and government policies and standards. The position advises and educates stakeholders, monitors and escalates procurement and contract risks, and supports the development of tools, resources and reports to support Ministry financial accountability.

Job Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Completion of course work in contract management.
  • Experience preparing, tendering and awarding contracts.
