Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide administrative and analytical program support. Coordinates the workflow of assigned area. Types a variety of technical and non-technical material, correspondence, reports and presentations utilizing advanced word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Assists in data collection, compiles and maintains a variety of statistical information for analysis and generates reports. Answers telephone and greets visitors, responding to general inquiries. Screens, prioritizes and redirects incoming and outgoing letter and electronic mail. Maintains calendars for team members, scheduling appointments and arranging meetings. Attends meetings to take minutes, types and distributes agendas and minutes, and follows up on action items. Creates various weekly lists/schedules and maintains timekeeping records for designated staff. Sets up and maintains filing systems.
ABOUT BELLA COOLA, BC
Bella Coola sits in a mountain valley at the head of the North Bentinck Channel, 500 km north of Vancouver, with a population of about 1800 people. The community is at the end of a long, truly magnificent fjord, on the mainland coast of British Columbia. Bella Coola General Hospital has 10 acute bed, 5 long term care beds and a 3 bed emergency department open 24/7, along with a laboratory, diagnostic imaging services, Telehealth, Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Support Services. QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program, plus three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to type 45 words per minute.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
