Accounts Payable

We are seeking a very detail-oriented, organized junior accountant with experience in payables and receivables for a private financial advisory firm which currently manages approximately 20 public companies

The successful candidate will join a team managing the affairs of several public companies. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting procedures with an emphasis on Accounts Payable as well as ad‐hoc projects and minor A/R duties.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Perform Accounts Payable activities including processing invoices and expense reports
• Schedule and prepare cheques, wires and other forms of payment
• Complete Bank reconciliations and deposits
• Manage bank accounts
• Reconcile credit card statements
• Complete GST/HST returns
• Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems
• Assist CFO and Controller with period end procedures
• Assist with various other duties as required

What You Bring:

• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• 1-2 years’ Accounting experience including Accounts Payable
• Proficiency with MS Excel
• Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred
• Fast learner
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to multitask and take initiative

The position will start with 1 ½ months onboarding in office for orientation and learning curve and then option to work from home.   You will be required to go into office on occasion for banking responsibilities.  Convenient downtown Vancouver location.
