Position: Accounting Standards Manager – Growth Position in Richmond
Location: Richmond, BC
Industry: Public Practice Accounting
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
This is a rare opportunity to do something truly different within a public practice firm. If you’re the go-to person for quality control or standards research on your team, this role will give you a unique chance to create a growth plan around your strengths.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact Elizabeth Billig at email@example.com or 604.689.867 extension 239 for more information.
This smaller midsized firm based in Richmond has one of the best company cultures in town! If you like a social team, this is the type of place where you can become friends with your coworkers. Operating out of multiple locations, this firm offers clients and resources not generally available at smaller firms, and their passion for charity work gives team members ample opportunity to “give back.”
As the firm’s Standards / Quality Control Manager, you will have every opportunity to grow your role according to your desire and abilities. You will be given unmatched agency over your role, as the firm is willing to cross-train and develop your skills wherever you see opportunity. You will also have the option to develop your role within Richmond or in another office within the firm.
As the Standards Manager, you will lead all aspects of quality control for the firm. You will do final review on tax compliance, tax planning, review engagements and NTRs to ensure that all engagements are completed according to the appropriate standards. You will be the go-to person for standards research, and you will create ongoing training procedures and materials to ensure staff is kept up-to-date on changes as they occur.
The ideal candidate would have a reputation for Standards knowledge and resource at their small firm or Private Company Services team. You should have strong knowledge of NTR, review, and tax compliance as well as some exposure to basic tax planning. Exposure to both ASPE and IFRS would be a huge asset, as would strong training experience. You must have excellent communication skills and a desire to work within a social team.
