Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash.
  • Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules and prepare related journal entries.
  • Perform sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare sales tax return working papers.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting package and related variance analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements for foreign subsidiaries.
  • Ensure all financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Liaise with external auditors regarding financial reporting at the group and subsidiary level and prepare audit working papers and support schedules.
  • Liaise with colleagues at various levels in all departments in the organization to ensure completeness of financial information.
  • Understand the Company’s business environment and basic risk management approaches.
  • Identify internal control gaps and deficiencies, as well as efficiency and effectiveness opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations for improved and enhanced controls and business efficiencies.
  • Ensures confidential and private financial information is properly dealt with in accordance with public company governance.
  • Understand the Avigilon group structure and intercompany relationships.
  • Other duties as required from time to time related to the support of the Finance department.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or the equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience.
  • At least one year of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • A professional accounting designation or close to completion.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of multi-company experience an advantage.
  • Big Four experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both external and internal people.
  • Experience with an accounting ERP system (SAP preferred) in industry would be an asset
