What- the Role:Our client has created a new role for an
Accountant. This person will report into the Controller and also work closely with the Director of Finance and the Accounts Receivable Specialist. A major focus for the Accountant will be
revenue accounting- reviewing, reconciling, and recognizing revenue from the organization’s various revenue streams. The Accountant will also prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, process payments, prepare working papers, and assist with budgeting, year-end audit, financial reporting, and ad hoc accounting-related projects and process improvements.

Who- the Candidate:We are seeking candidates with minimum 1 year of relevant accounting experience, and preferably 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience. Experience with revenue accounting and revenue recognition is required. Some form of relevant post-secondary education is vital (in accounting, commerce, business, etc.) and pursuit of CPA designation is preferred. Qualified candidates for this role will be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with great organizational, problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills. The Accountant will have a professional, friendly, and patient approach to stakeholder management with non-accounting colleagues. Ability to learn new systems is important in this role- the company has a primary accounting system, and also uses lots of Excel and various other systems for billing, invoicing, etc.
