Who: Our client is a well-known tourism marketing organization with a great reputation! Wonderful people work for this company and there is a lot to learn.

Where:Downtown Vancouver. Very transit accessible.
What- the Role:  Corporate Accountant. This is a 1-to-2-month contract to start, with good chance for extension if it’s a good fit and workload continues. First step is a phone interview, second step is a short- on-site interview for the top 2 finalists. The contract is currently slated to run from October 10th, 2017 until November 30th, 2017. 
  • Follows reporting requirements, financial policies, practices, and procedures, and addresses and resolves issues of non-compliance in consultation with the finance leader.
  • Conducts analysis of requirements and applies relevant policies, directives, and procedures; and monitors and analyzes input documents to ensure the integrity of data input to financial systems.
  • Respond to supplier and business unit inquiries.
  • Provides support for the annual financial statement audit, pension statement audit and audits of any other nature. 
  • Prepares monthly bank and other account reconciliations.
  • Audits, inputs, and processes vendor invoices. 
  • Maintains and prepares financial reports and ad-hoc inquiries including expenditure analysis, payables reconciliations, invoice look ups and other related reports as needed.
  • Audits and inputs travel expense claims for ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.
  • Other related duties as requested by the finance leadership. 
Who- the Candidate: We are seeking an Accountant who is passionate, professional, and personable. Good communication skills overall are crucial (and French language skills are a plus!).
  • 2 or more years of progressive experience working in an accounting or finance role.
  • Experience in completing account reconciliations for month end review.
  • Experience in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as ensuring compliance with internal accounting policy and procedures.
  • Experience using various financial systems, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing & accruals in an environment with contract and commitment tracking is an asset
