Working as part of Absolute’s award-winning Sales team, the Account Manager is responsible for the retention and growth of business within existing accounts. The Account Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned accounts with the goal of growing existing business and developing net-new opportunities.

The Account Manager position is heavily focused on customer engagement/account management and working with internal departments (Support, Professional Services, Training, Finance, etc.) in order to identify opportunities to  impact or enhance the customer experience. Account Managers must possess an in-depth understanding of both the clients’ and Absolute’s business.

Accountabilities Will Include:

Retention and Growth

  • Cultivate meaningful ongoing relationships with customers with a view to revenue retention and identifying up-sell/cross-sell opportunities
  •  Drive revenue from assigned accounts by managing the renewal/re-purchase process and by up-selling/cross-selling Absolute products & services
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of renewal and expansion opportunities to support growth targets
  •  Deliver proactive license expiry communications
  • Track future expiries as sales opportunities
  • Track competitor expiries within an account
  •  Provide product demos
  • Process license co-terms and buy-backs
  • Work closely with OEM and Reseller Partners to maximize sales and fulfill orders accurately and in a timely manner

Account Monitoring

  • Understand customer business and IT challenges and position Absolute as a trusted advisor
  • Review product usage and adoption, making optimization and configuration recommendations as required
  • Share customer best practices (vertical-specific)
  • Deliver new product release updates and training
  • Help customers identify at-risk data and/or devices
  • Provide proactive and timely account support/health checks
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews
  • Onsite visits to strategic retention or at-risk accounts
  • Assist with routine account maintenance activities such as agent over- installs, agent removal, and expired licenses
  • Deliver recurring customer satisfaction surveys and follow up on results
  • Approving orders with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, own and manage the opportunities, and drive them to close

Customer Onboarding 

  • Conduct customer welcome and onboarding sessions
  • Set up account contacts and user profiles
  •  Assist with product configuration
  • Provide product demos
  • Deliver knowledge transfer and respond to product usage questions


  • Attend mandatory and optional sales training sessions
  • Grow knowledge of Absolute products/services and internal systems
  • Contribute to a customer-focused environment that encourages information sharing, team-based sales activity, and a strong focus on business development and renewals

What You'll Need:

  • Commercial selling and/or account management experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial high-tech environment
  • Excellent customer-engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to learn technical products and solutions
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Familiarity with leveraging CRM and/or SFDC as a sales management tool
  • Post-secondary education required (diploma /degree in sales or business preferred)
  • Travel is required
