Job Description

Reporting to the Director of the Learning Commons & Academic Success Centre, the Accessibility Advisor develops strategies that remove barriers to support educational success and leads CNC’s efforts to increase awareness about the need, obligation, and benefits of academic accommodations for students with disabilities. The Accessibility Advisor determines the eligibility of students with disabilities for accessibility resources, services, and plans and implements and monitors individualized accommodations and supports. This role is vital for student retention and success and ensures CNC meets the duty to accommodate through a student-centred approach. This role ensures CNC complies with human rights and academic accommodation regulations. In addition to this work, the role also assists students in building solid educational plans to achieve their career goals and aids them in executing those plans.
