About

Drive Smart is a local designated driving company in Victoria BC (opening soon in Shawnigan Lake). At Drive Smart we prevent drinking and driving by driving our customers home in their own vehicles. Please read further for FAQ's

1. How much do I make?
Drivers & Chasers both make 30% of the fare each (minus a $1.75 administration fee per trip)
Tips are split 50/50 between the Driver & Chaser
Drivers pay their Chaser 5 cents per KM driven during their shift.

2. What are the requirements to become a Driver
Class 5 license/3 year drivers abstract
Smartphone with Data (we use an app to send trips/process payments/communicate with dispatch)
Drivers must be 10/10 at driving Manual Transmission

3. What are the requirements to become a Chaser
Class 5 license with Business Rate Class/3 year drivers abstract
Smartphone with Data (we use an app to send trips/process payments/communicate with dispatch)
Fuel efficient vehicle with business insurance

4. When is training and how long is it?
Once you apply we’ll send you a link to book training at your convenience
Training is usually around a hour

5. Can I work with a friend?
Yes absolutely! You can apply as a single applicant OR as a team (Driver and Chaser)

6. What time do shifts start and end?
Shifts start at from 6pm-10pm and go until 1am-3am

7. Am I insured to drive the customer vehicle?
