We must make more significant investments in preparing the potential leaders of our organizations, given the widening leadership gap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Millennials will make up a large portion of the group of executives who will be taking on leadership positions in the future. It is predicted that millennials will make up 75% of the workforce by 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this in mind, 63% of millennials believe their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcjobs.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leadership skills<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are not being properly developed. Our efforts should be directed toward enhancing and expanding the skill set of those who will eventually run our companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only one in ten individuals have the innate abilities required to be a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/trainingmag.com\/4-tips-for-developing-great-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">great leader<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span> Based on the data they acquired, <strong>they also discovered that outstanding leaders usually combine the following five characteristics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ability to inspire others<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Self-confidence to face challenges<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Skillfulness in establishing relationships of trust<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The ability to foster an accountability culture<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The capacity to decide objectively and for the good of the entire enterprise<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hiring leaders from outside your company can be costly, time-consuming, and risky.
