Blind Beginnings

About

Founded in 2008, Blind Beginnings Society offers BC children and youth who are blind or visually impaired opportunities to develop skills, confidence and independence in order to reach their full potential.

Our focus is on children and youth who are blind or visually impaired, and issues affecting them.
We are family-centred. Parents and family members are consulted in the implementation and evaluation of our programs and services in order to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
We promote a ‘no limits’ philosophy which challenges pervasive misconceptions about blindness. We are passionate about demonstrating that there is no limit to what children and youth who are blind or visually impaired can accomplish.
We embrace and value blindness and visual impairment as an expression of the range of human diversity.
