Job Description:
Casual Relief is long term on call employees. Hours will depend on availablitity and seniority.
Non-Profit Association hiring casual relief Residential Care Workers. Opportunity for full and part time. Working with developmentally disabled people in a group home setting. Duties involve promoting integration within the community, life skills training, administering medications, personal hygiene assistance, meal preparation etc.
Casual employees receive an additional 10.2% in lieu of benefits. Union membership will be required upon hire (BCGEU).
Please note that once hired as a casual and you work at least one shift, you can apply for any of the internal postings you meet the qualifications for.
Requirements:
Must have: -minimum 2 year diploma in a related field, suppporting people with developmental disabilities -or degree in Social Services, Social Sciences, Psychology, or Special Education. -Minimum 1 year experience in residential or day setting with developmentally disabled people. -Must have experience with dual diagnosis, special needs assesment, program evaluation, design and signing skills. -Valid Class 4 license OR use of a vehicle for work, -safe drivers abstract, -medical clearance from your doctor, -First Aid and CPR, -negative TB within last 1 yr, -Criminal Record Search upon hiring.

Must meet minimum availability of 3 shifts per week which must include every other weekend.
