The Opportunity Recognizing the ecological and economic impact that increased operating efficiencies can have on our resource-strapped healthcare system, we are looking for someone to take the lead in finding ways to improve operations. For the right candidate, this is a very exciting and unique opportunity offering a flexible work schedule and a multi-faceted work environment. Your responsibilities will include: • Analysis: Analyze current operational metrics, filtering the data to establish Key Performance Indicators, and use these to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements • Field Investigation: Based on analysis, identify areas of opportunity and visit various healthcare facilities to investigate and establish industry best practices • Program Development and Execution: Based in Field Investigations, create programs aimed at improving operations acting as a “best practices evangelist”, educating nurses and healthcare workers on what have been determined to be industry best practices • Tracking/Reporting: Track and report program success based on performance metrics
Requirements:
The Candidate: For this unique role, we are open to people from any industry. For us, it is essential to find a multi-faceted individual with exceptional analysis, problem-solving, presentation and negotiation skills. • Ideally, you should have a post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Healthcare • Must have the ability to analyze and manipulate data using MS Excel i.e. The ability to “massage” data and make it “speak to” non-technical people • Must be very comfortable engaging with and presenting in front of groups of people with the ability to get people to “buy-in” to your ideas • Experience with formal Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, TOC, 6-Sigma) “nice to have”, but not necessary • A genuine passion for people, problem-solving, and our environment
