Job Description:
The Role:
Reporting to the Director, the Software Development Manager is responsible for managing application development by working with Developers, Program Managers and Business Teams to develop and support applications to meet business requirements.
The Responsibilities:
Manage the application development, design, creation, implementation and testing of product roadmaps for the assigned business unit. Coordinate and manage the development initiatives including setting timetable deliverables, evaluation, development and deployment of applications. Work with the assigned business unit, product marketing and management in understanding, defining, creating, recommending and implementing technologies that supports business initiatives. Utilize existing application capabilities and introduces new applications to support new or changing development structures and business requirements. Participate in the managing application development resources to budget, feature, and time deliverable objectives, in close communication with cross-functional partners. Participate in the annual budgeting process to ensure financial alignment, including the development and management of operational and capital budgets for Application Development. Manage, develop and lead staff; including the recruitment, development, performance management and compensation responsibilities. Ensures confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property.
The Qualifications:
A proven manager with the ability to work closely, collaboratively and effectively with senior manager, technical professionals and across functional departments Experience in managing and motivating, project managers, individuals and teams Skilled in developing and implementing new strategies and process improvements Ability to problem-solve, identify solutions, and implement outcomes that meet business needs. Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a dynamic environment Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills. Ensures confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property. Works closely with IT Operations to manage the shared resources that are required for implementing strategic projects. Represent the Application Development team on strategic initiatives, corporate projects and client/vendor interaction Results-oriented leader who inspires team members to deliver superior product Communicates effectively in a wide variety of settings and to diverse audiences, including: executives, managers, technical and non-technical personnel, and customers. Ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a high stress environment.
