Job Description
6-month contract Observability Engineer role with a global enterprise organization working within their rapidly growing engineering team.

As a result of investment in technology our global enterprise organization is looking to add an Observability Engineer to their engineering team. As a core member of this team, you will be helping to guide the organization to both improve the practice of monitoring and observability, and to contribute to developing the strategy, roadmap and execution. In this role you will support application teams migrating to Datadog using APM, Infra and Serverless agents, ensuring that standards and best practices are met and working with key stakeholders to improve documentation, standards and practices. Finally, the role works with multiple internal teams, including vendor TAMs, to resolve issues and empower our end users. You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience with Observability solutions
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with rule and advanced logic creation within Datadog, AppDynamics, NewRelic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, or another Observability tool
- Hands on experience with datadog APM, Infra, serverless and RUM
- Experience in migrating app servers, Observability solution agents or rolling out mass updates using Ansible or Terraform
- Hands on experience in implementing and configuring an Observability solution in Kubernetes
- Experience with open-source projects such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry and tools such as CloudWatch, AppDynamics, NewRelic, Splunk, and Dynatrace
- Familiar with complex time series concepts
- Familiar with highly available back-end systems and services
- Must demonstrate a sense of ownership to plan, execute and drive the product deliverables to successful completion and be successful in a collaborative environment
- Experience with agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD is a plus
- Ability to think innovative and contribute to the success of the products, processes and customer experience
- Excellent decision-making, communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of:
- PII / CCPA / GDPR rules
- Enterprise Single Sign-On
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Atlassian Suite tools
- Cloud Solutions
- Terraform or Ansible
